SINGAPORE – HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED (“HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED” or “the Group”), in partnership with The TENG Company (“TENG”), has awarded the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED-TENG Scholarship 2026 to five outstanding young musicians after a rigorous selection process.

The 2026 scholarship recipients – Chia Jia Jun Eddy, Clarissa See, Xie Ruoqing Claudia, Yang Lin Xuan and Zhang Aizhou – will receive financial assistance to support their continued growth in Chinese music. With a total disbursement of S$55,000, the scholarship is designed to empower youths from less-privileged backgrounds. Each scholar brings passion and dedication to their craft, and this support helps open doors to opportunities that nurture both artistic and personal growth.

Entering its ninth year, the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED-TENG Scholarship reflects a sustained collaboration between HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED and TENG to cultivate emerging talent in the Chinese music landscape. The two-year programme delivers a comprehensive learning experience, combining mentorship, structured training, music theory instruction and performance platforms. In parallel, scholars contribute to the community through outreach efforts, reinforcing the role of music in social impact.

Since its inception, the initiative has supported a total of 43 scholarships, underscoring its long-term commitment to advancing arts education and creating pathways for young musicians to thrive.

“Since establishing the scholarship in partnership with TENG in 2018, our aim has been to go beyond financial assistance by providing young musicians with meaningful performance opportunities to develop their craft and inspire them to give back to the community through the arts. We are encouraged by the positive outcomes achieved to date, and we are pleased to continue to support our scholars in their musical growth,” said Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED.

Recipients from earlier cohorts have continued to make significant strides, earning recognition on national platforms such as the Singapore Chinese Music Competition. At the 2024 edition, scholarship recipients Li Zhixin, Claudia Xie, Preston Ang, and Ee Anzhi received awards in their respective categories, reflecting both their growth and dedication. Beyond competitions, scholars have also gained valuable performance experience on prominent stages with Ee Anzhi performing at the National Day Parade in 2025, and Li Zhixin, Clarissa See, and Ee Anzhi taking the stage at the Istana Open House in 2026. These milestones have contributed to their artistic maturity and personal confidence.

“The HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED–TENG Scholarship has grown into more than a programme — it is a catalyst for shaping the future of Chinese music in Singapore. What began as an effort to support promising young musicians has evolved into a dynamic pipeline, nurturing not just artistic excellence, but confident, purpose-driven individuals who carry culture forward in meaningful ways. As we look ahead, our ambition is to deepen this impact — to widen access, strengthen pathways and build a thriving ecosystem where young musicians can grow from learners into leaders and changemakers. We believe that Chinese music is not only a heritage to be preserved, but a living, evolving art form that speaks to new generations and new audiences. We are grateful to HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED for their steadfast partnership in this journey, and we remain committed to empowering our scholars to not only excel on stage, but to inspire communities and shape the cultural landscape of tomorrow,” said Yang Ji Wei, Executive Director of The TENG Company.

SINGAPORE – HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED (“HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED” or “the Group”) officially launched the second phase of HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Art with a Purpose (“MAWP”) on 31 March 2026. The second phase (“Phase 2”) presents three new items – a Set of Four Bird-Themed Postcards, an Enamel Pin of St James Power Station and a Postcard of Trần Xuân Soạn Street in Hanoi, Vietnam. All products are available for purchase from now until 30 September 2026.

MAWP was first launched in January 2025 (“Phase 1”) by Mr Edwin Tong, then Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law. The initiative underscores the Group’s commitment to delivering impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) efforts by bringing the arts closer to communities while doing good.

Building on Phase 1’s positive response, Phase 2, aligned with HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s CSR pillars of the Arts, Education and Environment, comprises three products created by a diverse set of artists from Singapore and Vietnam. It aims to raise a combined amount of S$35,000, from Phases 1 and 2, with all proceeds (net prevailing GST) going towards charities and artists’ royalties.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, said, “HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Art with a Purpose aims to meaningfully uplift and enrich communities. Phase 2 not only continues our support for local beneficiaries but strengthens our commitment to empowering individuals by nurturing an inclusive arts community in Singapore. This phase also extends our impact to Vietnam, allowing us to give back to more communities we operate in.”

The Set of Four Bird-Themed Postcards (S$14.90), photographed and donated by Mr Tarun Kataria, Independent Chairman of HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED US & EU Logistics Private Trust (“MUSEL”) Investment Committee, features four birds – Malachite Kingfisher, Black-naped Oriole, Yellow-vented Bulbul and Crimson Sunbird. All proceeds from the sale of the postcards will be donated to Nature Society Singapore.

The second artwork in the series is an Enamel Pin of St James Power Station (S$4.90) illustrated by Zulkhairi Lutfi, a 20-year-old Singaporean artist with autism. Commissioned by HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, Zulkhairi incorporates imagery from photography of buildings to celebrate the beauty and significance of everyday things. 90% of proceeds will be donated to ART:DIS, a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating learning and livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities in the arts. The remaining 10% of proceeds will go towards artist’s royalties.

The third artwork is a Postcard of Trần Xuân Soạn Street in Hanoi, Vietnam (S$4.20) illustrated by Trần Nam Long, a 20-year-old hearing impaired artist from Vietnam. He began drawing at the age of three, and art has become a way to communicate his emotions. 90% of proceeds will be donated to Passerelles NumériquesVietnam, a non-governmental organisation providing IT training programmes to underserved youths aged 18 to 23 in Central Vietnam. The remaining 10% of proceeds will go towards artist’s royalties.

Zulkhairi Lutfi, artist of the Enamel Pin of St James Power Station, shared, “I am grateful to showcase my artwork through HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Art with a Purpose. I hope that anyone who sees or wears the pin will be reminded to note the small details in life and find beauty in them too.”

Sixteen distinguished guests including artists, beneficiaries and members of the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED CSR Board Committee attended the launch of HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Art with a Purpose’s Phase 2 on 31 March 2026 at St James Power Station (“SJPS”). Guests also participated in a guided heritage tour of SJPS led by Yong, founder of The Urbanist Singapore.

Members of the public can support the artists and beneficiaries of Phases 1 and 2 by purchasing the products at the MAWP vending machine at VivoCity (Level 2, near 7-Eleven, #02-216c) or at HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED CSR events from now until 30 September 2026.

Phase 1 featured three Singaporean artists and their adaptations of six art installations and artefacts in HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Business City as Pop-Up Postcards. (For more information, please refer to Annex A.)

SINGAPORE – HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED (“HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED” or “the Group”) and the Singapore Management University (“SMU”) concluded its fifth HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Real Estate Forum at SMU, bringing together close to 90 SMU students, industry professionals, real estate practitioners and members of the public on 20 March 2026.

Addressing this year’s topic, Asset Allocation in Turbulent Times, keynote speaker Mr George Agethen, Managing Director of Real Estate for Asia-Pacific and Latin America, La Caisse (formerly CDPQ) and panellist Mr Chua Tiow Chye, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, shared how investors can navigate heightened volatility through disciplined portfolio construction, prudent risk management and a focus on long-term value creation.

Drawing on more than 25 years of global capital-allocation and market-cycle experience, Mr Agethen highlighted, “In today’s volatile and uncertain environment, asset allocation has become far more complex and consequential for long-term investors. From an institutional perspective, the objective is not to predict every turn of the cycle, but to remain disciplined in portfolio construction, risk management, and execution. Real estate continues to play an
important role in diversifying portfolios, but investors need to remain selective and strategic about where capital is deployed and why.”

Mr Chua added, “As real estate investment becomes more global, effective deployment into sectors and markets requires a clear understanding of market trends and risks, amid current geopolitical and interest rates volatility. At HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, we create long-term value through our integrated capabilities as a developer, investor, capital and property manager – combining diversification, strong on-the-ground presence and disciplined operational execution – focused on delivering consistent and attractive returns across real estate asset classes for our investors and stakeholders.”

The insightful panel session, moderated by Professor Zhang Hong, Professor of Finance, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, SMU, further explored the different trends and strategies of asset allocation amid a volatile environment. Participants gained deeper industry knowledge and perspectives on diversification and resilience in allocation strategies, and on their prospects in the real world.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, said, “HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s longstanding partnership with SMU reflects our commitment to empowering tertiary students in their educational journey. We are proud to continuously support a platform that encourages curiosity, critical thinking and meaningful industry engagement. Initiatives like this forum equip students with valuable insights and perspectives that will shape the next generation of real estate investment leaders.”

The forum is part of the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Real Estate Programme at SMU which aims to nurture and equip future leaders in real estate. Aligned with HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s Corporate Social Responsibility Education pillar, the programme was launched in 2018 with a S$3 million endowed donation and enhanced in 2021 with a S$2.5 million contribution.

The HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Real Estate Programme also supports overseas study trips to broaden students’ exposure to global real estate markets. To date, more than 200 undergraduates and postgraduate students, along with academic staff have visited Australia, China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam. The programme provides a strong foundation in real estate, finance and investment, preparing students for future-ready careers in the industry.

The inaugural edition challenged teams to develop and pitch a product or service aligned to the themes of Education or Healthcare. Drawing on HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s capabilities as a real estate company, the four winning teams – AdaptAble, Error 404, Goodgood, Reflexion – will advance to commercialise their ideas at rent-free pop-up stalls at VivoCity from 13 to 19 August 2026. HONG KONG SAR – The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society (HKBWS) held the opening ceremony of the Shui Hau Harvest Festival Exhibition on 17 January 2026, titled “Cultivating Ecology, Revitalising Shui Hau” at Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong. The exhibition highlights the achievements of the four-year project “Between Mountain and Sea — Nature Conservation Management for Shui Hau”, featuring a diverse array of exhibits including a dedicated “Shui Hau Habitat Model”, to demonstrate the effectiveness of wetland management and agricultural revitalisation while reconnecting villagers and the community through farming traditions. The exhibition opened to the public on January 15 and will run until January 24.

Science-Based Wetland Restoration and Community Engagement

Funded by the Lantau Conservation Fund, the “Between Mountain and Sea — Nature Conservation Management for Shui Hau” project was launched in 2021 as the first wetland conservation initiative in Lantau to adopt scientific principles and “Nature-based Solutions”. By restoring long-abandoned farmland, the project has rebuilt wetland ecosystems and enhanced biodiversity while preserving the unique rural lifestyle of the area. Sponsored by HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, a global real estate company headquartered in Singapore, supported by Festival Walk as venue partner and BirdLife International as strategic collaboration, this exhibition serves as the grand finale of the “Shui Hau Harvest Festival” series.

In collaboration with the design team “The Common Map,” HKBWS presents the conservation journey through thematic panels, interactive satellite imagery, villagers’ stories, crop displays, documentaries and bird monitoring footage from raptor perches.

Habitat model illustrates Shui Hau’s wetland system

One of the key highlights is the “Shui Hau Habitat Model”, which presents the wetland system of Shui Hau in a visualised manner, encompassing a diversity of habitats shaped by its distinctive landscape, including rice paddies, ecological ponds, marshes, Fung Shui Woods, streams and mudflats, enabling visitors to understand the habitat recovery brought about by farmland restoration. It also introduces how nearly 30 wildlife species—including Critically Endangered Yellow-breasted Bunting, Brown Fish Owl, and Javan Pond Heron—use different wetland habitats for foraging and shelter, reflecting the programme’s achievement of a 30% increase in recorded species numbers following restoration.

Through villagers’ stories and visuals, the exhibition also highlights how villagers and the project team worked together to restore farmland and share the harvest. At the opening ceremony, Dr Tony Ip, Vice-Chairperson of the Lantau Conservation Fund Advisory Committee, thanked the project team and Shui Hau villagers for their joint efforts. He said: “Wetland management in Shui Hau integrates scientific research, effective habitat restoration and active community participation, contributing to biodiversity conservation, the promotion of sustainable agriculture and stronger community cohesion.”

Bird Monitoring Footage Linking Farmland Ecology and Conservation Efforts

The exhibition features bird monitoring footage recorded at raptor perches—structures designed to attract birds of prey to help control rodent populations. Equipped with smart cameras, the perches have captured valuable footage of various bird species using the structures, including Brown Fish Owl preying on rodents. Many of the clips are rarely seen by the public, offering a glimpse into the natural behaviour of wildlife in farmland settings and its connection with wetland management.

A documentary is also screened, reviewing challenges encountered during the programme’s implementation—such as manual land preparation under extreme summer heat and flooding caused by heavy rainfall—while highlighting the positive outcomes of farmland restoration. Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman of HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, remarked: “HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED is proud to support HKBWS in this exhibition at Festival Walk under our CSR pillar of Environment, which showcases the harmony between the Shui Hau community and nature. The exhibition also invites the public to explore the rich biodiversity of Lantau.”

Mr Yu Yat-tung, Director of HKBWS, expressed his hopes for the future of conservation in Shui Hau: “The experience in Shui Hau shows that when science, the community and the land move forward together, conservation can bring meaningful change. We hope more people will join this journey—protecting wetlands, sustaining rural heritage, and supporting a future where water continues to flow and biodiversity thrives.”

SINGAPORE – HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED (“HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED” or “the Group”) is pleased to announce the six awardees of the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Young Composers Initiative 2025, with each receiving a cash award of S$2,500. The initiative caps off the Group’s programme of SG60-related celebrations this year and was conducted in collaboration with the University of the Arts Singapore (“UAS”), bringing together emerging musical talents from LASALLE College of the Arts (“LASALLE”) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (“NAFA”).

In July 2025, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED and UAS announced two new arts initiatives – HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Young Filmmakers Initiative 2025 and HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Young Composers Initiative 2025 to support students in filmmaking and music composition. Centred on the theme “Essence of Singapore”, these initiatives offer LASALLE and NAFA students meaningful opportunities to explore national identity, heritage and community through original artistic projects. The initiatives align with HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) Framework, under the Arts and Education pillars, underscoring HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s commitment to nurturing individuals.

Throughout the year, the Group curated a series of festive events, beginning with its flagship performance series, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Arts in the City, performed by Singapore Chinese Orchestra in March 2025. In total, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED organised over 20 initiatives in 2025, ranging from concerts and exhibitions to workshops. Each initiative reflects the Group’s CSR pillars of the Arts, Education, Environment and Healthcare and strengthens its bond with the community.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED, said, “HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED is delighted to present the works of emerging artists in celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday. We extend our appreciation to UAS, LASALLE and NAFA for this partnership to empower creative individuals as they pursue their artistic passions. HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED will continue to seek opportunities to nurture young talents and contribute to Singapore’s vibrant arts community.”

Mr Jose Isidro “Lito” Camacho, Chairman, University of the Arts Singapore, said, “This initiative highlights the value of a meaningful partnership between HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED and the UAS in creating learning experiences that are both rigorous and grounded in practice. By learning beyond the classroom through mentorship and public presentation, students are encouraged to reflect deeply on national identity while developing their artistic and professional competencies.”

A total of 20 submissions were received from LASALLE and NAFA via the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Young Composers Initiative 2025. After a rigorous judging process conducted by Mr Felix Phang, Founder and Managing Director of Pasat Merdu, LASALLE Adjunct Lecture, Mr Americ Goh, Programme Leader (Continuing Education and Training), NAFA Faculty of Performing Arts and a HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED representative, six compositions were selected – three from each institution. (For more information on the winners and their compositions, please refer to Annex A.)

Industry veterans Ms Belinda Foo, a composer, arranger and orchestrator with over 35 years of experience and Dr Zechariah Goh, recipient of the National Arts Council Young Artist Award in 2003 will be mentoring the winners from LASALLE and NAFA. The winning pieces will be showcased at a performance and prize-giving ceremony in May 2026.

Separately, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED hosted a private premiere on 4 November 2025 for the top three short films of the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Young Filmmakers Initiative 2025Hotpot Mayhem, Kecantikan and Portrait. Awardees:

CompositionDescription
Nestled in our Green City
by Keith Lew BA (Hons) Music Year 2, LASALLE
The world moves so quickly around us, and I consider us extremely fortunate to have such easy access to so many beautiful nature spots and parks in Singapore. It is personally one of my favourite characteristics of this small island. I’ve had so many fonds memories that have taken place in a park. I hope that with this piece, I’m able to convey the gratitude I have towards our parks and the peace and joy that they bring me.
Roots in the Skyline
by Tan Wei Bin BA (Hons) Music Year 2, LASALLE
“Roots in the Skyline” reflects Singapore’s multicultural soundscape by pairing traditional timbres with a modern melodic motif, supported by rhythmic patterns drawn from different cultural traditions. It carries the idea that as we move forward and modernise, our roots continue to shape the skyline we build.
The Legend of The Lion City
by Lok Chew Ru BA (Hons) Music Year 2, LASALLE
“The Legend of the Lion City” is about the story of Singapore, growing from a small island to a world-renowned city. The piece is a tribute to the pioneers of Singapore and everyone who worked hard to achieve the vision of constructing Singapore into a global city. The piece exhibits Singaporeans’ unity, strength and resilience via four musical sections which correspond to the various periods in Singapore.
Up Up Up Up
by Luo Enning Master of Composition Year 1, NAFA, School of Music
This piece captures Singapore’s evolution from a diverse immigrant society into a unified nation marked by continual growth and progress.
Bedok Reservoir
by Seem Jia Ang Bachelor of Music Year 4, NAFA, School of Music
As a small nation with limited land, Singapore must balance development with the preservation of nature. This piece reflects on that tension and encourages listeners to consider the trade‑offs made in pursuing economic growth.
Echoes of a Koel
by Ow Yong Wai Yen Diploma in Music Year 3, NAFA, School of Music
“Echoes of a Koel” draws inspiration from the Asian Koel’s iconic call, a sound deeply embedded in Singapore’s daily landscape. Featuring the musical portrait of a familiar presence that weaves a sharp two‑note call throughout the piece, it invites listeners to rediscover the rhythms of daily life and appreciate the quiet poetry that became part of Singapore’s identity.

SINGAPORE – HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED (“HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED” or “the Group”) is pleased to announce the official launch of the HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Edible Garden at Alexandra Retail Centre (“ARC”) by the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) Board Committee on 8 December 2025. Opened in September 2025, the rooftop edible garden on Level 3 of the retail mall has produced more than 30 kilograms (“kg”) of crops to date, comprising nine different vegetable varieties.

This is a community initiative aligned with HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s CSR Framework, under the Environment Pillar. The garden, primarily maintained by volunteers, is a space for the working community of HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Business City (“MBC”), mTower and ARC.

More than 30 volunteers, including HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED staff and tenants from the working community of Alexandra Precinct such as BW Offshore Holdings Pte Ltd, JGC Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and Pfizer Asia, received hands-on training in basic gardening skills by Singapore-based agricultural start-up Corridor Farmers. As at 30 November 2025, the volunteers contributed a total of 211 hours to the garden and harvested an assortment of vegetables including aubergine, basil, bok choy, kangkong, lady’s fingers, laksa leaf, lettuce, mint and pandan. (Refer to Annex A for the top three highest-yielding crops and their respective harvest weights.)

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman, HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED said, “The HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED Edible Garden is a practical step towards building stronger food resilience, in addition to transforming an existing urban space into a community-focused green corner. It gives our community access to fresh produce and supports sustainability in our daily lives. HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED will continue championing sustainable initiatives that enrich lives.”

Volunteer Ms Koh Mei Ling, APAC & LATAM Operations Lead, Pfizer Asia said, “In just three months, the garden has progressively transformed week by week. The first harvest of lady’s fingers and basil was a proud moment as I brought the produce home. This simple activity has offered a meaningful way to reconnect with nature.”

To amplify its impact, the edible garden is registered under the National Parks Board’s Community in Bloom (“CIB”) Programme. This nationwide gardening programme cultivates a gardening culture and promotes civic ownership and community stewardship through gardening activities.

The garden also participated in CIB’s recent Grow and Share initiative and shared a portion of its first harvest with surrounding communities, as part of HONG LEONG HOLDINGS LIMITED’s commitment to giving back. Among the partners was NTUC Health Active Ageing Centre (Telok Blangah), where a substantial amount of the harvest was shared with the seniors.
